As we approach Mental Health Week 2024, MercyCare Family and Community Service team is committed to empowering communities and fostering thriving workforces through a focus on mental health.
On Friday, 04 October 2024, from 10 am to 2 pm, MercyCare will host a special event at Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre to kick off this important week.
This year, the theme is all about power—power in community, power in support, and the power we all have to influence positive change in mental health.
Our event will feature a series of engaging activity stations designed to provide the community with practical tools and strategies to enhance mental wellbeing.
Mental Health Week is a national celebration dedicated to encouraging social connection and raising awareness about the importance of mental health.
It highlights the critical connection between social determinants of health and mental wellbeing, aiming to promote effective prevention strategies that keep both individuals and communities mentally healthy.
The event at Lakeside Joondalup is an opportunity for everyone to learn more about mental health, engage in activities that promote wellbeing, and connect with others in a supportive environment.
It’s a chance to understand the language of mental health—how to express and manage our emotions, both good and bad.
Join us on Friday, 04 October 2024 and be part of a movement towards a mentally healthier WA!
Your participation helps foster a community where everyone feels empowered to support each other, where thriving workforce’s’ are the norm, and where mental health is prioritised.
